Valentine's on a budget

The Christmas holidays have come and gone and a new year has come. Goals have been made and resolutions have been set, now valentine's day is upon us. How can this day be made special in light of the down turn in the economy and the job lay offs?
Valentine's day can still be special without having to spend much money. All you need is some creativity and lots of love.
Some simple ideas are -: we always have candles around the house, whether regular candles or scented candles, dinner is always made so there's no extra there or if you don't feel for dinner then order pizza. To make it more interesting you can spend for a bottle of wine, if not just make some lemonade or even champagne flavoured soda. You can have a theme, say, garden of Eden and we know how Adam and Eve dressed before they ate the apple.....Or you can dress up as you would for a formal occasion, still with candle lights and soft music. If you don't have CDs I'm sure there would be soft music playing on the radio. After dinner and a little dancing, you may opt to watch a movie or comedy on the television or play a game, say, like strip poker. That should put you in the mood for the bedroom or even same place in the living room. That would be a pleasant and romantic Valentine's day. You see, it's not about how much you have to spend but how you spent the time together. There are so many other things that one could do to have a romantic evening. You could write each other poems, play truth or dare ( of course this would just be about each other in your life together and not anything about your past or involvement with anyone else. Dare to do something that you have never done before. It may also be a time to recommit yourselves to each other. If there is whip cream or ice cream at home, you can lick it off each other.
Valentine's day is about expressing love to each other, not spending money, just be creative as you share your love.

P.S. I am in no way encouraging anyone to be a cheapskate, if you have the money to spend then do so. Buy scented candles and flowers and chocolate, if you want to stay home, then order in. Buy your spouse lingerie...Have fun....just do it in love.
